The final placings were identical to the Ronde Van Gelderland held earlier this month, with Kirstin Wild (Cervelo Test team) in first and Rochelle Gilmore (Lotto Ladies) in second place.
Rose fever around the riders of SMP Saddles continues. Thanks to the Gold Generation of the Footon-Servetto-Fuji the SMP Saddles reached the place in the first line at Giro d’Italia 2010.

Erasing his two second deficit to the leader Michele Scarponi (Androni Giocattoli) the riders in fact finished tied on time although stage placings gave the overall victory to Garzelli for his first career Tirreno-Adriatico victory. The winner of the mountains classification at the 2009 Giro he also reversed last years result which saw Scarponi win by 25 seconds.
Australia's Cadel Evans (BMC Racing) rounded out the GC podium in third place, 12 seconds behind Garzelli.

Conditions were fantastic for the 3.8km swim, flat calm waters greeted the 1300 athletes. The professionals started 15 minutes ahead of the age groupers as darkness was just lifting. I tried to get on the feet of Keiran Doe and Terenzo Bozzone, but Keiran blasted out of the blocks right from the cannon with Bozzone on his feet and I was left floundering in their wake. Bozzone was able to stay with Doe for the first few kilometres, and I swam the 3.8kms completely on my own, so limiting my losses was the only consolation. The 8 time NZ Ironman Champion has been using SMP since January and in his first Ironman riding an SMP saddle he felt the advantage of the saddle most strongly after getting off the bike leg where he was able to produced a stellar run leg to win his 8th NZ Ironman Title;
